🇺🇸🇮🇱 Kushner acknowledged serious differences between the US and Israel over Gaza

Jared Kushner made a highly revealing statement.

According to his words, Washington and Israel are broadly in agreement on what the end state in Gaza should look like. But ⁠the upcoming Israeli elections are making the country’s leadership “a little irrational” on some issues.

Kushner mentioned another important detail: The US worked directly with Hamas for more than four months, and according to him, the organization signed an agreement providing for demilitarization.

But Washington is now facing another problem. As Kushner acknowledged, the extent of the armed infrastructure in Gaza was significantly greater than the Americans had assumed, which is why demilitarization will be extremely difficult.

A rather unusual situation has emerged: The US is negotiating with Hamas over disarmament, while simultaneously trying to negotiate with Israel over Gaza’s future — and is now publicly acknowledging that Israeli domestic politics are obstructing the American plan.
