Your eyes tell the truth your mouth can’t quite wrap around. And I know you’re not ready. Hell, maybe I’m not either. But there’s this static between us, like feedback in an empty venue, loud and haunting and impossible to ignore. You come closer like you’re fighting gravity and guilt all at once. Lips parted. Breath held. Tongue wet with words that taste like regret and something almost tender.

And maybe, maybe you don’t know what to do with everything you’re carrying. All that noise in your chest. All that feeling with nowhere safe to land. But I see it. Every time your gaze collides with mine, like a wreck you don’t want to survive. I feel it too. Loud, reckless, and real in a way that hurts.

We’re not just playing with fire, we’re the match and the gasoline. And maybe that’s the point. Maybe we were never supposed to make it out clean.
