Pepper-Based Tear Gas
The goal of the experiment was to test whether capsaicin can be effectively sublimated.
I took 20g of the mixture of ammonium nitrate, sawdust and engine oil from my video about a colored smoke bomb (https://youtu.be/-kbZo1d8n_0?si=p1rnBQEUf3QQYIYm) and mixed it with an alcoholic solution containing 5g of capsaicin, which was extracted from a Carolina Reaper pepper. See the article: https://www.spkx.net.cn/EN/10.7506/spkx1002-6630-201024027

I dried the solution. I took less than half a teaspoon, wrapped it in foil, and ignited it. The result exceeded all expectations. The smoke was extremely acrid, instantly causing chest pain and a severe cough. After a few seconds, I started to panic and left the room. I was very surprised by the effectiveness. This little thing made the entire room uninhabitable for a while. I think instead of pure capsaicin, a commercially available extract with 10% or 20% capsaicin could be used. I should check that.
