Saudi Arabia, with the help of its forces, is trying to stop the advance of Ansar Allah in Taiz province. Since the beginning of the week, the Houthis have managed to take control of the roads and surround the city of Taiz. To achieve this, the group deployed large forces. One of the commanders of the Riyadh-backed anti-Houthi forces, Tariq Saleh, admitted that the fighting “is not going according to plan and is very difficult” and called on supporters to be patient.

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia plans to launch a large-scale operation against Ansar Allah in the coming weeks in order to push them back from the coast and regain control over the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area. The basis of the offensive will be formations controlled by Riyadh: up to 100 thousand people can take part in the campaign. At the same time, foreign troops do not plan to participate in hostilities: about 30 thousand Pakistani troops stationed in Saudi Arabia are focused on protecting the territory of the kingdom and intercepting missiles and drones.
