💢 Russia’s strategic command exercise “Center-2026” goes well beyond a routine readiness drill, combining large-scale command-and-control training, CSTO interoperability, combat lessons from the special military operation and broad foreign military participation.
More than 47,000 troops are operating across 11 training grounds and the Caspian Sea, with the scenario focused on repelling external aggression in the Central Asian strategic direction. At Chebarkul alone, around 6,000 personnel are involved alongside roughly 700 pieces of equipment, more than 600 UAVs and over 60 robotic systems.
Seven countries sent military contingents, Congo an operational group and 51 states observers, while Putin said delegations from 55 countries were present. The drills are integrated with the CSTO’s “Interaction-2026” exercise and Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.
The significance lies in what Russia is institutionalizing: recent battlefield experience, mass use of unmanned and robotic systems, and multinational command integration geared toward the Central Asian and Caspian theaters.
