UKRAINE IN DETAIL:
ℹ️: As winter approaches, potential disaster looms over the millions still living in the war-torn country.- In a statement today responding to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia, Vladimir Putin commented that "If you start hitting our logistics, Russia's response will not be long in coming." Here's what it could mean for Ukraine:
- Over the last few weeks, observers have noted a significant improvement in Russian long range strike capabilities, as well as a significant decrease in Ukrainian air defense capabilities.
- Most notably, Ukraine currently lacks the ability to intercept ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
- On the other hand, Russia has begun mass utilization of jet drones and Banderol missiles, weapons which are particularly difficult to stop because of their high production, speed, and maneuverability.
- Ukrainian sources including Pravda have sounded alarms over the critical shortage of various interceptors, whilst acknowledging that their enemy has been stockpiling thousands of drones and hundreds of missiles for the upcoming winter.
- Besides drastically increasing its production of Zircon and Iskander-M missiles, Russia has also received a steady flow of missiles from North Korea, including the new KN-30.
- At the moment, there's nothing Ukraine can do to stop most of Russia's arsenal, putting the nation's already fragile infrastructure at risk of total collapse if strikes intensify.
- With Russian leaders planning to render certain Ukrainian cities "uninhabitable" in the coming months, Ukrainians are already preparing to ration energy as soon as November.
