Hamilton Police have arrested 33-year-old Ebunoluwa Tomiwa—known as "Boon." Tomiwa, a Belleville resident who lists himself as a corporate tech recruiter with TEKsystems, faces severe charges including Trafficking in Persons, Procuring for Sexual Services, Material Benefit from Trafficking, and Withholding Identity Documents. Investigators strongly suspect there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact police immediately as Tomiwa awaits his bail hearing.

Between 1995 and 2003, the RCMP "E" Division conducted Project E-NIRS—the only province-wide criminal investigation of its kind into allegations at British Columbia's 15 residential schools. Corporal M.W. Pacholuk authored the final report, which examined every allegation of physical and sexual abuse, along with unlawful and suspicious deaths.

The task force didn't just investigate rumours—they physically tested them. On February 24, 1999, with the band's permission, they went to Kuper Island, where stories of dead babies buried there had circulated for years. Investigators dug up suspected burial sites and found no evidence that would support any of these allegations.

In August, members of the Vanguard held our annual Fash Bash in Ontario, Canada. Men flew in from across the nation to take part, and the whole thing turned out to be an absolute blast. We threw down in some really intense, bloody fights that pushed everyone to the limit, tore into great food afterward, and soaked up the kind of tight comradery that only comes from sharing the ring and the table with your brothers. It was a kick-ass weekend from start to finish, I can't wait for next year!
