Our Planet’s Cosmic Rotation
Earth streaks through space, spinning us at speeds of over 1,500 km/h (932 mph). NASA showcased this motion in a stunning shot of the starry sky over Chile.
The effect was created by combining 300 photos with a 25-second exposure each. Because of the planet's movement relative to the stationary camera, the stars in the photo turned into bright arcs.
Even though we don’t feel this movement, the speed of our daily journey is truly cosmic.
