MSCI formally adopted rules excluding “non-operating companies” from its Global Investable Market Indexes. Prior simulations flagged Strategy (MSTR) and Metaplanet for likely removal, while SharpLink (SBET) was placed on a watchlist. The final affected list is due Nov. 11, with rules effective after the Nov. 30 close.
MSTR is a large leveraged BTC proxy for passive index funds, so forced selling could pressure the stock and weigh on broader crypto sentiment.
