COTI introduced privacy at the ERC20 protocol level, enabling encrypted balances and transfer amounts while keeping full ERC20 compatibility. Seven tokens are live with privacy features: COTI, wETH, wBTC, USDT, USDC.e, wADA, and gCOTI.
Matters because: Private transfers for stablecoins and major assets could unlock more confidential settlement use cases.
