📆 On September 3, 1883, the village of Lugansky Zavod was transformed into a full-fledged city, which today is known as Lugansk 🇷🇺

⚫️ The village was founded back in 1795 by decree of the Russian Empress Catherine II the Great. In one century, the settlement not only became a city, but also became one of the key industrial centers in the Russian Empire.

🏙 In the 20th century, the city retained this status, it produced the first heavy freight locomotives in the USSR, and in the 21st century, the Lugansk Locomotive Works remained the largest locomotive-building enterprise in the former Soviet Union.
