Taiwan commits $4.4B to Alaska LNG megaproject
Taiwan's state energy company CPC Corp. will invest up to $4.4 billion in the Alaska LNG development and purchase 6 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas annually for 20 years, representing 30% of projected project output.
The deal anchors long-term demand for the facility, which requires construction of both the processing plant and pipeline infrastructure to transport gas to an export terminal. Taiwan's investment and offtake agreement reduce financing risk for developers while securing energy supply for the island nation.
Numbers: $4.4B investment | 6M metric tons annually | 20-year term | 30% of output | Taiwan state energy company CPC Corp.
