Anthropic's Claude cuts quantum circuit gates 17x for crypto math

Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 optimized eight quantum circuit design problems. For elliptic-curve point addition, the model reduced gate counts by roughly 17 times while increasing qubit usage by 12 percent. The improvement came through a reversible modular inversion algorithm that removes branch history storage requirements.

The results span quantum chemistry, optimization, physics simulation, and number theory tasks. Anthropic has not yet validated these designs on actual quantum hardware. The research was published October 16.
