🔺 THE GOVERNMENT REALLY DID TRY TO SEE BEYOND THE ROOM.
For years, U.S. intelligence agencies funded research into something that sounds impossible on paper: whether a person could describe a distant location, object or event without physically seeing it.
The technique became known as “remote viewing.” What began as experimental research eventually developed into a series of intelligence programs connected with names such as GRILL FLAME, CENTER LANE and later STAR GATE.
This was not a movie script. The records were classified, the work involved intelligence agencies and the surviving files were eventually declassified.
⟁
The idea was simple but extraordinary: if human perception could somehow gather information beyond normal sensory limits, intelligence agencies wanted to know whether that ability could be used operationally.
Remote viewers were given targets and asked to describe places, structures or situations they could not normally access. Some sessions were even connected to real intelligence requirements.
The program continued in different forms for years because officials believed there were results worth investigating.
But there was a problem.
The information was not reliable enough.
⟁
By the mid-1990s, an independent evaluation concluded that although some results appeared statistically unusual, remote viewing was too inconsistent and unpredictable to become a dependable intelligence tool.
The program was not continued.
Then the files began to open.
Thousands of pages documenting experiments, sessions, internal discussions and assessments eventually became public.
That may be the most interesting part of the story.
Not that the government proved psychic intelligence worked.
It did not.
The signal is that intelligence agencies considered the possibility serious enough to spend years testing it behind classified doors.

♟ THE FILE DOES NOT PROVE THE IMPOSSIBLE.
IT PROVES THEY WERE WILLING TO INVESTIGATE IT.
And sometimes what governments were willing to test tells you as much as what they eventually discovered.
