Yixing teapots come from Jiangsu, China. Their craft flourished during the Ming dynasty, when brewing loose tea leaves became increasingly popular.
Made from local zisha clay, these teapots are usually leftunglazed. Their earthy colours and textures become part of the design — from simple geometric shapes to sculpted flowers and dragons.
With regular use and gentle care, the surface gradually feels smoother and develops a soft, lustrous patina.
Centuries of history, shaped in clay.
Our new teapots have arrived — find them at our tea house and on moychay.nl.
