🌳 Century-old tea trees
The best puerh comes from tea trees, not bushes. Some of them are hundreds of years old. Their long roots go deep into the ground and reach water and minerals young plants can't get to. They grow slowly, so every leaf gets more of everything. That's why the taste is thicker, the aftertaste lasts longer, and the feeling is stronger.
🍃 Young or aged? Both.
Young sheng is bright, floral, a little bitter, then sweet. Clear and energizing.
Aged sheng spends years turning that bitterness into honey, dried fruit and wood. Softer, deeper, calmer.
Same leaf, two completely different teas.
