I would like to offer a brief clarification for those who, in light of recent developments, believe that a war between the U.S. and Iran could break out as early as this weekend, within the next 24 to 48 hours.
In my assessment, this is highly unlikely, as several key indicators that would point to imminent action are still absent.
Most notably, Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, along with other U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf near Iran, has not been evacuated, in fact, as can be seen on Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, these facilities remain packed with USAF refueling tankers.
Some might argue that Iran could launch a preemptive strike if it anticipates a U.S. attack, however, this also seems unlikely, had U.S. intelligence detected such a threat, these bases would have been evacuated or, at the very least, their assets would have been moved to dispersal positions.
Naturally, the situation could change overnight, but at this moment, I do not believe the signs point to an imminent war in the Middle East.
