The first one-person billion-dollar company will be built onchain.
The people building the models have stopped hedging: Altman says agents are joining the workforce, and Amodei gives the first billion-dollar one-person company a 70 to 80 percent chance of arriving in 2026. For most of business history the limit on a company was labor. Agents removed that limit, and the first place they removed it was code; plenty of tools can write your app today. The company is what comes after the app: support, marketing, the treasury, the analysis. That company will appear first where the work already looks like software, which is onchain: the only industry where the product, the money, the customers, and the rules already live in one piece of code.
Anyone who has launched onchain knows the morning after: the Telegram filled up overnight, and someone has to answer it at 3am. So the question has changed. Not "who builds my app" but "who runs my company". That is now a job description you type into a chat.
Modus is a company builder for the onchain world. One conversation, start to finish:
Research: a sentence is enough, or a full spec, or a GitHub repo. Modus Spec studies the market, pressure-tests the concept, and turns the conversation into a product requirements document (PRD) that every later step reads, with four expert reviewers on call for a second opinion.
Design: a full studio covering app screens, website, pitch deck, social kit, and videos. Paste your URL and Modus extracts your brand; from then on every agent designs from that kit, onto an infinite canvas, and Modus checks every screen for quality and consistency as it lands. Finish the screens with the agent in the same editor, down to the raw CSS.
Code: a browser IDE you drive by chatting. Frontend, backend, database, tests, and the contracts, Solidity or native Solana; anything new passes static analysis, an AI security review, and a check against your spec before testnet. Every turn is bracketed by commits, so anything rolls back in one click. Background tasks take the bigger jobs while you keep talking.
Ship: deploy is a button. Frontend to Vercel or Netlify, backend services to Cloudflare Workers or always-on on Modus, contracts to Ethereum, Robinhood Chain, Solana, Base and more. Modus Gateway puts the RPC, indexing, market data, and routing behind one key, so your product is live on day one instead of waiting on a dozen provider signups.
Launch: the token is part of the same build, designed by an agent that already knows your product's fees, users, and treasury. DEX or curve: Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Aerodrome, Pons, Flap, pump.fun. After launch, every owner function, vesting, taxes, LP lock, renounce, is one message away.
Run: then you hire the AI employees who run what you just built: the community manager, the social media manager, the support rep, the analyst, the onchain operator. They arrive with the app, the docs, and the contracts already in their heads, work through hundreds of connected apps, X, Telegram, and Gmail among them, and get better at the job with every run.
Your hands stay on the wheel: the code is yours, every transaction is signed from your own wallet, and nothing ships until you say so.
