John Banovich
"Symphony in Dust," 2002

Artist John Banovich is a master of African wildlife art, known for powerful, detailed paintings.

Yet, elephants in captivity often forget their strength. A parable shows why:

A passerby saw elephants held by a thin rope tied to one leg—no chains or cages. Though strong enough to break free, they didn’t. Curious, he asked a keeper.

The keeper said, *“When young, we tie them with this rope. It works then. They grow up, but the belief remains. They believe they can’t break free—so they never try.”*

The visitor realized: these giants are bound not by rope, but by belief in their own powerlessness.

How often do we do the same? How many believe they can’t, just because they once failed? #BreakTheRope #Mindset #Potential
