Scenes of village life among Norway’s fjords, painted by Hans Dahl

Hans Dahl (1849–1937) was known for his striking Norwegian landscapes, with steep-sided fjords and sweeping valleys.

Alongside these captivating views, he painted young women at work in the surrounding countryside—gathering leaves and grass for livestock, fishing, cutting hay, and picking flowers to sell at the market.
