Maxim Fadeev has been working in Donbas since 2014, when his hometown of Sloviansk first came under shelling. He has repeatedly found himself in the thick of the fighting. He has seen it all.

In our film 'Fadeev's Battle for Truth' (2025), the war documentary filmmaker speaks candidly about what remains behind the scenes and the price of this difficult work.

This film, like Fadeev’s other works, has already been screened at the international documentary film festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’. His four-part documentary series 'At the Edge of the Abyss', which chronicles the battles for Mariupol, was shown to many viewers on the big screen for the first time.
