🇺🇿🇯🇵 Between August 15 and 18, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held negotiations in Tokyo and Osaka with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as Sojitz Corporation, Washin Trading, Le One Co., Ltd., Daido Industries, OMETA, ITO Corporation, Okamoto Corporation, Masui, and other leading Japanese corporations.

🟠During the meeting with State Minister of METI Masaki Ogushi, the parties reviewed key areas of cooperation, including the expansion of bilateral trade and economic partnership, implementation of joint investment projects, collaboration within the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) for introducing energy-efficient technologies and supporting low-carbon initiatives, broadening the range of agricultural exports, accelerating phytosanitary approval for Uzbek cherries, as well as cooperation in energy, mining, processing, and supply of strategic metals.

🟠With the leadership of JBIC, agreements were reached on expediting the implementation of ongoing projects, opening financing for new initiatives, and enhancing support for the private sector.

🟠In meetings with representatives of Japanese corporations, prospects for cooperation were discussed in the fields of energy, healthcare, agriculture, light industry, infrastructure development, as well as in textile industry growth and the adoption of sustainable “smart” farming technologies. Following negotiations with Sojitz Corporation, a new Roadmap was signed covering projects in energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and other areas.

🟠On August 17, the delegation took part in the Uzbekistan National Day events at EXPO 2025 in Osaka.

🟠The visit reaffirmed the high level of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, opening up new prospects for expanding investment cooperation and implementing joint initiatives.
