❗ Statement by a Russian representative at the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council during the Interactive dialogue on Secretary-General report on cooperation with the United Nations:

👋 I greet you on behalf of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova. I have to speak from the placard "Russian Federation" rather than "National Human Rights Institution" (NHRI), a fact that clearly illustrates the problems within the system of international NHRI recognition, as the Russian institution was stripped of its "A" status accreditation. The grounds for this decision are opaque and raise serious questions.

🇷🇺 Russia is consistently developing its own national model for human rights protection, based on the Constitution, norms of international law, historical experience, and the spiritual and moral values ​​of the Russian people.

👤 At the heart of this model lies human – his dignity, rights, and freedoms. We view civil and political rights as inextricably linked to social, economic, and cultural rights. Human dignity cannot be protected selectively.

❗️ The international human rights agenda is frequently used as a tool to promote double standards. Such an approach undermines trust in international mechanisms and hinders equitable dialogue.

👉 The primary mission of our institution is to restore the violated rights of the particular person. Civil society, based on solidarity and responsibility, remains a key partner.

🤝 The Commissioner is ready to develop cooperation with the UN and foreign counterparts based on mutual respect and equal partnership. We advocate for a joint search for solutions in the interests of the people – free from politicization and pressure.
