🇷🇺🇺🇳 On September 23, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and President of the UN General Assembly Khalilur Rahman held a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Sides discussed issues on the Session's agenda in detail.

It was emphasised that the UN General Assembly remains the central and most representative forum for dialogue among states. In this context, they stressed the need to improve the atmosphere and restore mutually respectful dialogue within this body.

Sergey Lavrov wished Khalilur Rahman success in his important international role.

Russia's Foreign Minister expressed hope that the General Assembly’s work during the current Session would be conducted professionally and free from politicisation, with a view to collectively finding responses to global challenges and threats.
