⚡️ On August 18, Ambassador of Japan to Russia Akira Muto was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin conveyed a strong protest to the Japanese diplomat over anti-Russian remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi regarding President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s visit to Iturup Island.

☝️ The Russian Side stressed that Russia’s sovereignty and jurisdiction over the Southern Kuril Islands are immutable.

These territories became part of our country following World War II, as enshrined in the relevant agreements reached by the Allied Powers and the UN Charter.

👉 Any attempts by Japan, whether direct or indirect, to call this indisputable reality into question are absolutely unacceptable and unlawful.

Against the backdrop of Tokyo’s continued adherence to the anti-Russian sanctions policy pursued by the so-called collective West, as well as Japan’s support for the Kiev regime, the Japanese Ambassador was warned that Moscow reserves the right to take appropriate countermeasures.
