🇷🇺🇵🇭 June 2 marks 5️⃣0️⃣ years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and the Republic of the Philippines.

The diplomatic ties between the Soviet Union and the Philippines were officially established on June 2, 1976, during a visit to Moscow by the Philippines' President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. — the national leader who, regardless of the realities of the Cold War, pursued an independent foreign policy.

Over the past half-century, the friendship between our nations and peoples has stood the test of time. Fruitful cooperation is developing across many areas, with the countries having built up a wealth of experience in bilateral relations which are based on mutual respect and pragmatism.

Today our countries are actively developing cooperation across a wide range of areas. Moscow and Manila are coordinating efforts on various international platforms. Efficient interaction is enhanced within the joint #RussiaASEAN mechanisms.
