🤝 On September 25, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu (Türkiye) had a meeting on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The Parties discussed the current state of affairs within the Organisation which remains mired in profound crisis due to attempts by a number of countries to subordinate its work solely to the Ukrainian agenda and Russophobic narratives.

The Sides exchanged views on prospects for rectifying the situation grounded in the foundational OSCE principle of consensus-based decision-making.

Mr Secretary General,

I am pleased to have another opportunity to discuss the state of affairs within the OSCE. We support your efforts to maintain the organisation’s work in line with the principles upon which it was founded.

I hope that today we will be able to exchange views on your proposals, as well as the preparations underway for the upcoming OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.
