🗓 Today marks the 8️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our country and Egypt.

🇷🇺🇪🇬 Traditionally friendly Russia-Egypt relations are based on mutual respect. In January 2021, the bilateral Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation came into force. The document is aimed at further expanding Russian-Egyptian cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and other fields, and defines mechanisms for efforts to enhance coordination between Moscow and Cairo at various levels.

🤝 Russia and Egypt maintain regular contacts at the highest level. On July 26, 2023, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa Summit. On January 31, 2023 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shoukry held talks in Moscow.

Russia and Egypt have demonstrated their commitment to constructive cooperation on key international and regional matters, including within the United Nations. Military technical cooperation, scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian ties are expanding.

📈 Egypt is Russia’s largest trade and economic partner in the Arab world and on the African continent.

✉ On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Sergey Lavrov sent a message of greetings to Sameh Shoukry.
