Statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic
Damascus, October 4, 2026 – The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the continuous violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Syrian territory, the latest of which is the resumption of work on the so-called "Alpha Line 53", in a flagrant violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and a blatant breach of international legitimacy resolutions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirms that the persistence of the aggressive approach of the Israeli occupation and the accompanying attacks and field incursions constitute a direct threat to regional security and stability, and undermine the rules of international law. The Ministry calls upon the international community to take deterrent measures to put an end to these practices and prevent their recurrence.
The Syrian Arab Republic renews its affirmation of its firm commitment to its legitimate right to exercise full sovereignty over all its territories, in accordance with the principles of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. It also calls upon the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in upholding the sovereignty of states and respecting the sanctity of their borders.
