I highly appreciate the decision of the Government of Japan to introduce additional sanctions against Russia, specifically targeting the shadow fleet and expanding export restrictions.
In effect, the sanctioned individuals and companies pose a common threat to our nations, and to Europe and the Pacific in general, as they are working to sustain Russia’s war machine.
Adopting this sanctions package is a timely and necessary step amid Russia’s cruel escalation of drone and missile terror against Ukrainians ahead of winter. We thank Japan for its leadership and support.
