⚡️🇫🇷🇷🇺 — President Emmanuel Macron warned that the Russian hybrid threat against France and Europe has intensified, announcing he has ordered the government to prepare a plan to protect critical infrastructure and the most sensitive defense and technology sites against drone and cyberattacks, according to Le Monde.
Macron made the announcement after briefing political party leaders and presidential candidates in the Élysée Palace's crisis room, alongside the heads of France's foreign and domestic intelligence services. He said any Russian attack on French soil "will not go unanswered," adding: "The intention behind it is to intimidate us and to derail the effort to support the Ukrainians. The consequence will be the opposite."
The move follows a series of incidents across Europe linked to Russia, including drone flights near sensitive sites, airspace violations, and cyberattacks. Berlin recently blamed Moscow for an incident at Leipzig airport, and French officials have warned that companies in France could also be targeted.
