🇨🇦 Carney finds money for lawyers, not reform

Third court challenge in a year, on a case dragging on since 2007, and Ottawa still wants Canadians to believe this is about justice. The same Liberal machine that lectures the country about reconciliation is now trying to quash a tribunal ruling while hiding behind protective application spin, as reported. We are 20 years into this mess, the tribunal upheld discrimination in 2016, ordered compensation in 2019, and the state is still paying litigators to stall.

The real tell is bureaucratic instinct. Indigenous Services has 40 people in its child and families litigation branch out of 254 positions in that sector. That is not reform. That is a taxpayer-funded delay factory. Harper did it, Trudeau did it, now Carney does it with the usual polished banker grin. Ottawa always has endless cash for court fights, consultants and virtue sermons, but when actual governance is required, suddenly the cupboard is bare. This is what post-national managerial Canada looks like: moral grandstanding up front, legal trench warfare in the back.
