More than 400 Iranian families are now in limbo because Ottawa suddenly remembered that the IRGC was listed as a terrorist entity in July 2024. After waving people in, taking their applications, and letting them build lives here, IRCC blasted out near-identical fairness letters on Aug. 6 telling former conscripts they may be inadmissible, as reported. This is what happens when a country treats immigration as therapy, branding, and labour-market patchwork instead of national interest. Either IRGC service matters or it does not. If it does, why were these cases approved into the system at all. If mandatory conscription changes the analysis, why is Ottawa acting shocked two years later. The real scandal is not that rules exist; it is that Canada has no serious gatekeeping, no coherent sovereignty, and no adult government. Bureaucratic chaos for citizens, betrayal for migrants, and another avoidable mess created by elite post-national stupidity.
