🇨🇦 Harper backs a trade rupture and calls it sovereignty

The sharpest absurdity here is watching Stephen Harper bless a Liberal-organized investor summit with CPP and PSP bureaucrats, then sell diminished reliance on the United States as a sovereignty project. Canada sends roughly three quarters of its exports south, but the managerial class now wants to posture like a mid-sized empire while our own economy is throttled by Ottawa’s regulation, anti-energy dogma, and immigration-fuelled wage suppression. Harper’s speech, as reported, wraps a trade war in patriotic language and pretends the problem is geography, not self-sabotage.

This is the Trudeau-Carney legacy with a Conservative gloss. Canada could have been an energy superpower a decade ago, but the ruling class chose carbon sermons, gatekept pipelines, and dependence on state-managed pension capital. Now they lecture us about sovereignty while flirting with Europe, global funds, and every transnational scheme that dilutes actual independence. Real sovereignty is cheap energy, domestic industry, secure borders, and a government that serves Canadians instead of summit-room cosmopolitans.
