Hundreds of municipal and school board candidates in Niagara are now being screened by an anti-racism lobby over five approved race topics, including whether they condemn Bob Gale, whether they have Nazi memorabilia, and whether they support publishing race data on suspensions. That is not democracy, it is ideological vetting dressed up as civic virtue, as reported. The real tell is the panic over remigration posters and anti-immigrant sentiment, because in elite Canada even noticing demographic change is treated like a moral crime.

This is how DEI captures local government: activists invent a permanent emergency, media amplify it, and candidates are pressured to kneel before the approved doctrine before they can discuss roads, taxes, zoning or schools. A signed copy of Mein Kampf becomes the pretext for turning every town council race into a struggle session on race management. Meanwhile taxpayers get more bureaucracy, more grievance politics, and less self-government. Niagara does not need municipal commissars policing thought. It needs councillors loyal to residents, not activist catechisms.
