This is the Carney model in one photo op: sell techno-futurist prestige while the country bleeds sovereignty, productivity, and social cohesion. We are supposed to clap because Bell gets an AI empire in Saskatchewan while the same ruling class spent years strangling real resource development with climate dogma and bureaucratic sabotage. Data centres are useful, sure, but who controls the infrastructure, the energy demand, the data, and the policy strings attached to it. Canadians keep getting summit-stage slogans and elite investment theatre while the state keeps building an economy that serves telecom monopolies, consultants, and global capital first, nation second.
