🇨🇦 Quebec denies the school caste system everyone can see

Christine Fréchette says Quebec schools are not really three-tiered, while the numbers say otherwise. Private-school students graduate at 92.5 per cent, the public system manages 79.8 per cent, and disadvantaged students lag at 63.9 per cent. Public-school kids are also three times more likely to drop out. Yet the grand campaign idea is a $1,000 RESP cheque for every newborn, as if a photo-op savings bond fixes structural triage. Even reported facts cannot pierce the political theater.

This is late-stage managerial Canada in miniature: officials deny the hierarchy they administer, then toss cash at families while the state system stratifies children by class, connections and postcode. Quebec loves to sermonize about equality, but preserves subsidized privilege for the insiders and a dumping ground for everyone else. The result is the usual liberal fraud: equal opportunity slogans, unequal outcomes by design, and another generation told to trust the same bureaucracy that failed them.
