🇨🇦 Canada can import millions, but can’t build one clinic

About 250 people from Neskantaga, a community of fewer than 400, have been shipped to Toronto because the local nursing station was hit by a sewage spill, then the temporary site had a fire, and officials found past remediation wasn’t even up to code. A 1994 facility, black mould, raw sewage, a 15-cm hole in the wall, and the usual Ottawa word salad about tailored support and ongoing conversations, as reported.

This is the real Trudeau-era legacy: performative compassion, third-world infrastructure, and bureaucrats flying in to assess the catastrophe they funded into existence. The same state that can process endless arrivals, bankroll NGO empires, and sermonize about equity somehow cannot deliver a functional clinic to Canadian citizens in the north. Sovereignty starts with taking care of your own people on your own territory, not evacuating them hundreds of kilometres away while ministers issue polished statements and call it action. This is not capacity. It is regime decay with better branding.
