The sharpest part is not Russia testing NATO, it is Ottawa sleepwalking into every foreign escalation while pretending Canada still has a coherent national interest. Even this analysis admits Moscow may prefer deniable provocations over open war, precisely because NATO’s real weak spot is political unity, not tanks. Poland and Romania have already seen drone intrusions, and a Russian cruise missile crashed in Poland’s Lublin province in late July. Article 5 looks tough on paper until ambiguity shows up and the alliance starts lawyer-shopping.

Meanwhile Canada’s ruling class still parrots moralizing boilerplate while our military is hollowed out, our borders are a joke, and our sovereignty is leased out to every supranational vanity project on offer. Kerry Buck says Moscow will try to shake NATO decision-making and political cohesion. Of course it will. That is what serious states do when they smell decadence. The real scandal is that Ottawa has spent a decade replacing defence, deterrence and national stamina with DEI sermons and globalist cosplay.
