Three Canadian Soldiers Among Seven Arrested in Toronto Crypto-Kidnapping Case
Seven people, including three serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, have been arrested in Toronto in connection with an alleged kidnapping and attempted cryptocurrency theft. Police say the group faces a total of 82 charges.
Toronto police confirmed the arrests. The alleged involvement of active military personnel sets the case apart from other crypto-related crimes. Authorities have not identified the cryptocurrency or disclosed its value, but say the suspects allegedly tried to seize digital assets from a victim by force.
The 82 charges point to a potentially coordinated operation. The Canadian Armed Forces have not yet commented on the soldiers’ status.
