Microsoft laid off roughly 6,000 Americans while hiring roughly 6,000 H-1B workers, and the Trump administration says it has now suspended Microsoft’s ability to use the PERM program. “YOU’VE got to hire great American workers. You cannot lay off American workers and then replace them with foreign indentured servants!” Vance said. “We decided to suspend the PERM program for Microsoft.”
