Today the DOJ Weaponization Working Group released a report in commemoration of the Biden Justice Department losing its ever-loving mind 5 years ago when it began considering parents "domestic terrorists." Let's dig in!
On Sep. 29, 2021, the National School Board Association sent President Biden a letter describing actions by protesting parents regarding curricula, masks, closures, and other policies as a form of "domestic terrorism" requiring federal intervention.
The NSBA letter referenced one parent arrested at a Loundon County School Board meeting--but that parent was arrested while attempting to highlight the fact that the district's policies had enabled his disabled daughter to be raped by a male student wearing a skirt.
In response to the letter, staff in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General (ODAG) wrote the problem “seems mostly state/local” and warned against promising DOJ resources where “we don’t have enforcement authority,” but asked whether he “may not be thinking creatively enough” about a federal dimension.
Another in ODAG responded that a person can be a Proud Boy or Nazi salute “all day long” unless it accompanies conduct violating another person’s constitutional rights: “The constitutional right part is what appears to be missing from this picture.”
As the conversation moved over to the FBI, an official in the Counterterrorism Division noted it was "potentially dangers ground to blanket label generalized activity" as domestic terrorism, pointing out: "Not all who oppose school board actions . . . are Domestic Terrorists."
