In 15 days, Trump turned “AI” into “Super Intelligence"

and Trump’s new Super Intelligence Force has one seat I’d watch closely: FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson.

The new force is led by DNI Jay Clayton, alongside Ferguson, Pentagon CTO Emil Michael and OPM Director Scott Kupor.

It reports directly to Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

And this all happened fast.

On September 29, Trump signed an executive order directing the executive branch to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” instead of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in official communications and non-statutory documents.

That same day, leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Google, Nvidia and SpaceX signed a voluntary White House AI safety accord.

The agreement includes commitments around testing, security and independent audits, but it does not create penalties or an enforcement mechanism of its own. Trump described it as “morally binding.”

That’s why Ferguson’s presence is interesting.
