Fyodor Dostoevsky Lithuanian ancestry legacy 🇱🇹
In a 1897 letter by Anna Grigorievna Dostoevskaya, who was Fyodor's widow, wrote about her husband repeatedly told that his family originally came from Lithuania during Grand duchy of Lithuania, from Pyotr Dostoevsky a marshal of Pinsk, who was elected to the Sejm in 1598. The family has lived in Dostoevo, near Pinsk. Even more strikingly is that even Fyodor's daughter Lyubov Dostoevskaya wrote that she had heard her own father and uncles say: “Мы, Достоевские, литовцы, но не поляки” - We Dostoevskys are Lithuanians, but not Poles.
