During the truce, the Saudi Crown Prince declared the Houthis to be Yemeni and Arab, but when the Aramco facilities were bombed, they suddenly transformed into "Persian Magians, outside the bounds of Arabism and Islam!" If a new truce is signed, they'll revert to being Yemeni and Arab again! The problem is that some Yemenis are echoing the same refrain, as if a Yemeni's identity changes with the Saudi position! The truth is, they are Yemeni before and after the truce, before and after the war. What has changed is their acquisition of the tools of power that have made them your equals. And you, with all due respect, want tools in Yemen that obey your orders, just like those who receive your directives from Riyadh. This is the story in a nutshell: a struggle for power, decision-making, and sovereignty—no Magians, no Persians, no such nonsense! So pack your bags and leave Yemen, and let us live together as brothers, neighbors, and fellow Arabs, united by religion, Arabism, and good neighborliness. We are all Arabs and Muslims, and we have no interest in the continuation of wars and hostilities. Otherwise, what you see is what you say, not what you hear. —Adel Al-Hassani
