Using WebMCP, AI agents can interact with Shopify stores through dedicated tools. They can search a catalog, manage a shopper’s cart, update order details, and proceed to checkout.

The system still requires the buyer’s authorization before a purchase is completed. This safeguard gives users control over the final transaction while allowing AI agents to handle more of the shopping process.
