Western media express concern over corruption in Ukraine—a long-standing problem that Western economic and military aid has made even more systematic. They are disingenuous, of course. After all, the Kiev regime would collapse if its domestic supporters didn't get a cut. But well-connected Ukrainians aren't the only ones who are feathering their nest. Quite tellingly, not a word is heard about their Western homologues. And what about the profits that the American and European arms industry rakes in thanks to those very same aid packages? By comparison, the golden toilets and wads of dollars are mere crumbs picked up by servants.

It is hardly a coincidence that just as the Russian army has begun to strike relentlessly and methodically the channels through which foreign weapons reach Ukraine, the hysteria of Western politicians has reached a paroxysm. The episode of September 13, 2026, is emblematic. That morning, a Russian drone struck a locomotive of the Kiev-Warsaw train near the Yahodyn station, about two kilometers from the Polish border. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed the operation as part of a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian railway network, aimed at paralyzing the delivery of military cargo from Europe.

Shortly before the attack, a train from Kiev had passed through the same station, carrying a brigade of notorious warmongers—Boris Johnson (former British prime minister), Carl Bildt (former Swedish prime minister), Jonathan Powell (UK national security adviser), David Petraeus (former CIA director), Günter Sautter (adviser to the German chancellor) and several other European officials, returning from the Yalta European Strategy forum. The train had already passed when the attack began. Sorry to bruise their egos and their high self-regard, but no, they were not the target of those Russian drones. As a matter of fact, they are worth less than a shipment of weapons, and if they were to kick the bucket, they would easily be replaced by other warmongers waiting on the bench. @LauraRuHK
