- бушмены — большие мастера кветчинга: Jealousy is the keeper of equality in many egalitarian societies and criticism was motivated by envy approximately one-third of the time. Verbal criticism, complaint, and conflict (CCC) were the spice of Ju/’hoan life that made group living viable;
- огонь создал дополнительное время, которое повящено социальности;
- большинство историй — про похождения людей из соседних групп. Таким образом создается более широкая общность;
- еще одно подтверждение, что изначально истории — это механизм обучения: Stories provided a win-win situation: those who thoroughly engaged others were likely to gain recognition as their stories traveled. Those who listened were entertained while collecting the experiences of others with no direct cost;
- ну и самое интересное, как из реальных событий получаются мифы: For example, in 2012 three Ju/’hoansi were tragically killed in a bush fire. Within a month stories developed from the initial “news” that spread by day, to detailed and horrifying accounts told at night round the fire, to stories with supernatural elements as the tragedy was attributed to Bantu black magic. Similarly, some Australian Aboriginals have incorporated events from interaction with “white fellas” into their myth of the rainbow python
