60 MPs move to bring Turkish tree-cutting in Duhok before Parliament

Iraqi MP Xalib Mihemed announced that a formal request signed by 60 members of parliament has been submitted to the Iraqi Parliament Presidency.

The request calls for the reported Turkish cutting of trees in Duhok’s Behdinan region to be discussed during upcoming parliamentary sessions.

The move comes amid controversy after Duhok Governor Ali Tatar denied that the recent tree-cutting took place inside the Kurdistan Region.
