My clear response to the President of Syria, who made boastful declarations from the UN podium: The Golan Heights, under Israeli sovereignty, is an integral and permanent part of the State of Israel.
We will not withdraw from Mount Hermon or the security zone. We will remain in the Mount Hermon area and the security zone as long as there is a jihadist threat to the border and Israeli settlements.
If our forces or Israeli territory are attacked from within Syria, we will be forced to act and respond, and any territory we take this time will remain ours permanently, in accordance with the laws of war.
We will not allow Syria to become a threat to the State of Israel, and we will take all necessary measures to prevent that.
